Setting the pace
to beat poverty

June 2008

A trio from The Bridge Group put their best foot forward earlier this month to help provide housing for some of the world’s poorest.

Jonathan Goode, Dave Huskison and Fran Hall took part in the 25th annual Coventry Fun Run and raised a total of £480 for Habitat for Humanity, a charity which seeks to eliminate poverty housing by building worldwide.

The dash for cash saw 3,000 people running the 4.5 mile course to raise thousands of pounds for charities on Sunday, June 29.

The Bridge Group team set off from the War Memorial Park at 10.30am amongst an array of superheroes, cartoon characters and animals. The trio all completed the run in under 42 minutes. Jonathan Goode, communications consultant, will be travelling to Ghana with Habitat for Humanity in April 2009 to get involved in the nitty-gritty of building new houses. He said: “It was a fantastic event and it was great to see so many supporters turn up - some even had garden hoses to cool us down!

“As an organisation that works with many social housing clients, it was good to get involved in raising money to help house people in need. I’m really looking forward to my trip and the opportunity to help make a difference.”
