Whistle-stop techie tour hits CIH seminars
November 2007
Virtual reality and blogs were on the agenda when The Bridge Group gave Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) seminar delegates a unique insight into the world of new media earlier this month.
The seminars focused on marketing and communications issues in the housing sector and The Bridge Group was chosen to run workshops on both integrated and e-communications. The new media session, run by Kerry James, included a tour of communications methods from blogs and video logs, to social networking sites such as Facebook and virtual economies such as Second Life - plus a challenge to housing organisations to ‘take the freshness test’ with their existing websites. The integrated communications slot, led by Jenny Webb, explored how organisations have managed key messages successfully (and not so successfully), with tips on how to best handle a crisis situation.
Almost 60 delegates attended the workshops in London and Manchester.
Kerry James, business development director, said: “We were delighted to be selected to speak at these seminars and offer practical, down to earth advice on how to improve marketing and communications within the housing sector. We hope that all who attended will have found something useful to take away from the day.”
