Interview with Lauren Rowlinson

Two director roles, 45-acres of prime Cheshire estate to manage, a young toddler to chase… and still in her twenties! We borrowed five minutes from Lauren Rowlinson’s hectic schedule to find out more about her latest venture.

What’s new?
“As a family we decided to open the doors of our home and gardens to the public. As time has gone by we all increasingly appreciate how lovely it is here, so we thought we should share the setting and all our hard work with others - especially those who share our passions for gardening, home grown produce and good food. So we asked The Bridge Group to help us develop a new brand and website for the venture. We’d already worked with the team before and knew what to expect, so it was a very easy choice.”

Sounds busy, how’s it going?
“Pretty hectic! With 12 acres of mature woodland, nine gardens, holiday apartments, a timber workshop, wedding functions and a restaurant serving high-quality home-grown produce, we’re attracting a range of visitors. But hopefully everyone leaves us refreshed, relaxed and generally full of good food.”

Any tips on work/life balance?
“I have still not discovered the secrets myself! Some suggestions would be a very supportive husband, being very organised, having no time for myself and also accepting that my house will not always be as tidy as I would like.”

Abbeywood Estate is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from April to October each year. To find out more or make a booking, please visit the website email the team or call Lauren on 01606 889477.
